SKILLS THAT LAST A LIFETIME: Aim of the Program

We are fortunate to have the opportunity to teach every child in N1 through eighth grade twice a week. This allows us to get to know your children at every stage of their development at SAR.

Our mottos, “Skills that Last a Lifetime” and “Just Play the Game”, are indicative of our major objectives which are establishing and fostering healthy and appropriate social, emotional, cognitive and physical habits in every child’s development within a fun learning environment through sport, games, movement, and fitness.

All students will explore a wide range of physical activities including a variety of age-appropriate skills related to fitness, manipulatives, movement, and creative tasks as well as cooperative activities. The challenge is to have our students feel that exercise and learning, not just “playing” is important.

Our program strives to help students achieve success in all areas regardless of their skill level. Our goal is to expose our students to a variety of components of healthy lifestyles through active participation. We want them to achieve optimal productivity with their minds and bodies.

The SAR physical education program is designed in sequential learning stages that fulfill the need for optimal educational growth. There are four stages in our program:

  • Stage 1: Preschool- Kindergarten;
  • Stage 2: First –Third grades;
  • Stage 3: Fourth- Fifth grades;
  • Stage 4: Sixth-Eighth grade.

Each level focuses on the appropriate social, physical, and cognitive skills for each age. Our goal is to expose our students to a variety of components of healthy lifestyles through active participation. We want them to receive the most they can from their minds and bodies.
