We will learn how to draw professional fashion figures in your own original clothing designs; discover different and exciting clothing styles; and broaden and develop your creativity, all the while making beautiful, original sketches to illustrate your designs.

Making Magic: The Hobby Quest (W-6)
Are you amazed by the tricks of a magician? Come and learn some of their secrets while you build magic tricks, practice and perform for your friends. You will also be introduced to the world of juggling and puppetry. Each child is educated in the science, physics, and history of the magic they learn. Each child keeps all of their magic tricks, supplies, and educational materials.
Pottery (W-7)
Introduce your child to the joy of working and creating with clay. The children are taught various hand building techniques, using clay and other art media, and learn to form decorative or functional pieces while having a good time. All materials and firing included.
Super Soccer Stars (W-8)
This organization has an AMAZING reputation throughout NYC, the Hamptons and at SAR! Classes include warm-up games and skill-building activities designed to optimize the ability of all players. Scrimmages introduce the soccer stars to the structure of an actual game. Each budding soccer player receives a T-shirt at the first class.
Krazy for Kindness: SAR Chesed Club (W-9)
Explore with Morah Rita-Rivka the idea of 'chesed', why we should care, and how we can put it into practice in innumerable ways in our daily lives. Learn about wonderful role models, and see how particular mitzvot can develop our ability to be 'baalei chesed'. Brainstorm together, as well as develop and personalize our responses. Work on hands-on projects that will make a real difference in the lives of others.
YOGA HAVEN (W-10)
Are you in the middle of a busy week? Spend an hour stretching, breathing and relaxing in order to get through to the weekend. Melanie, an instructor from Yoga Haven and specialist in children's yoga, will lead this wonderful class designed to expose kids to the art of yoga through games and stretches. Comfortable clothes are recommended for this activity as the students will be sitting on the floor in different yoga positions. Come to yoga after school!
Fashion Frenzy (W-11)
CHOIR: 5th-8th grade (W-12)
The great poet Rilke once said “Singing is being.” Come and join the SAR choir. The choir will sing on Chanukah, at the SAR Dinner, Yom Haatzmaut and there will be a spring concert featuring both choirs. Learn to sing in an ensemble, read music, sing in parts and have fun! If a 6th, 7th or 8th grade student cannot stay after school on Wednesdays, we will also meet during advisory/lunch.
Thursday
CHESS (TH-1)
Tri State Chess is back and better than before!! Come join the after school Chess club and have the opportunity to learn the game as well as improve your skills. Chess welcomes beginners as well as more advanced players. At your current chess level, you will learn the rules of the game, how to move pieces, strategies, checkmate patterns, and the art of sacrifice and attack. Trophies will be awarded to all students who complete the semester. SAR sends a chess team to Chess Tournaments as well as hosting tournaments ourselves.
Soccer Fun (TH-2)
Do you like to play soccer or just want to learn the game? Do you want to improve your soccer skills? Then come out to the field to learn and play soccer. Mark Koss, SAR Academy and High School soccer coach leads this soccer class.
GYMNASTICS (TH-3)
Do you have the desire to flip and tumble? Go for gold in this after-school that promotes self-awareness, physical control and the discipline "practice makes perfect"! Participant develop greater body control and self-confidence.
Aviation Club: The Hobby Quest (TH-4)
Come and build models from scratch! The building and flying of model airplanes has been a popular hobby since the days of the Wright brothers and even before. In The Hobby Quest: Aviation Club, we will build planes from scratch, during which each child learns to read plans, work with rulers, and use different hobby tools. Each student will learn about the basic history, physics and properties of flight while producing at least two model airplanes. The program will conclude outdoors where we set our gliders in motion and fly our models.
MUSICAL THEATER (TH-5)
This semester's musical theater class will strive to teach the students basic acting and voice techniques through fun games and exercises every week! As the semester progresses, the instructor will find short monologues and scenes suitable for each student at his/her level, something that will allow each student's talents to shine through while setting an attainable acting challenge. The final class will be a showcase for parents, families, and friends of select games from the semester, performance of rehearsed monologues and scenes, and group singing numbers.
MusicStart®: Learn to Read Music and Play Tunes! (TH-6)
The perfect follow-up to the "Mommy and Me" type of music programs, MusicStart makes playing music attainable for young kids step-by-step. Using familiar songs and a patented learning method and keyboard (which works out much better than using the traditional recorder), it teaches all the necessary basics to get started playing music. Fun Funky Crafts (TH-7)
Make hats, frames, hair accessories and much more. A mixed media class with lots of different projects. One project will go for Tzedaka. Come and see what fun crafting can be!
Claymation (TH-8)
Create your own claymation movie!!! Students will write a short script, create and animate characters out of clay and design a stage background to create their very own movie. Enrollment is limited to 12 participants.
Football (Boys) (TH-9)
Come out to the field and learn the game of Football. We will run drills to improve skills and play a game at each session. Come out to improve your game and have a blast!
Girl's Soccer Clinic (TH-10)
Do you like to play soccer? Then come out to learn the sport or improve your skills. Mark Koss, SAR Academy and High School soccer coach leads this soccer clinic.
