COLLEGE COUNSELING

At SAR, we focus on developing our students into lifelong learners.
Our college counseling program is designed to guide students as they
continue along in their educational journey. We ensure that students
are properly prepared for the transition from high school and Israel
programs into colleges that complement their talents, interests and
aspirations. 

Through their active involvement in the college admissions process,
students and parents are educated about the array of college options
available to them. Our dynamic college department team provides
counseling in both individual and group settings to help families
accurately formulate their college planning strategy. A large variety
of resources such as online tools, college representative visits, college
campus tours, college essay writing workshops, college counseling
groups, and a library of primary reference materials are available
throughout the school year. These resources, together with the
knowledge and guidance of our college counselors, aid in striking the
fine balance between students’ abilities and interests and a college
campus that provides for a robust observant Jewish life. 

In every dimension, our college counseling program is comprehensive,
providing the full range of services and state-of-the-art technology
necessary to obtain success in researching, applying for and finally
selecting from an assortment of outstanding college choices. While
students are encouraged to take the lead in this exciting process,
parents are vital, valued partners.

ISRAEL GUIDANCE PROGRAM

The post-high school year in Israel is a defining and transforming
experience for young adults. It builds upon the strong foundation
of learning in their high school years and creates deeper roots and
connections to the land of Israel and the Jewish people. In their senior
year at school, our students are exposed to a broad range of post-high
school Israel options – each with its unique qualities and personality.

A dedicated team of Israel Guidance counselors are prepared for
the important task of guiding students through the process of
selecting and applying to various programs. These same counselors
have established relationships with faculty at a wide range of Israel
programs so the information they impart to the students is current,
in-depth and personal. In addition to our Israel Guidance counselors,
there is an SAR alumni liaison in Israel, fostering a support network for
students as they embark on this new stage in their lives.

The Israel Guidance Program is comprehensive and student-based,
focused on ensuring that each student will make the most out of his
or her Israel experience.
