SAR High School, a co-educational Modern Orthodox Jewish high school, is a community of learners dedicated to recognizing the unique needs and potential of each individual student. We strive to challenge every learner to move beyond his or her comfortable limits, in academic, religious, social and co-curricular areas. SAR encourage students to probe and engage the world with humility and openness to God’s creations, and to be immersed in a culture of learning and service as participants in the Grand Conversation between Torah and the world. Finally, we seek to shape a school environment where the performance of mitzvot inspires respect, obligation and aspiration. This is the mission of our high school.
SAR is interested in attracting students who want to be participants in our mission- driven school, and are committed to developing their character, learning and observance as members of the Jewish people and citizens of a democratic society. Prospective students must be prepared to invest a significant amount of energy in both their general and Judaic studies program, to work collaboratively with other students, and welcome the opportunity to form close relationships with teachers and other staff members. In addition, prospective students should demonstrate behavior indicating their emotional readiness for high school studies and activities. Finally, SAR is interested in attracting students involved in community service activities that demonstrate their commitment to the betterment of the Jewish community and the world.
SAR recognizes that our students want to broaden their social, religious and academic peer group when entering high school. Therefore, we look to assemble a student body comprised both of SAR Academy graduates and students from other Jewish day schools located all over the tri-state area.

Parents are invited to join Rabbi Tully Harcsztark, Ms. Nancy Lerea and other members of our administration for an informational evening in your community about our school and the admissions process. All parlor meetings begin at 8:15pm. Please RSVP to a parlor meeting of your choice by clicking here. Application and Fee. Complete the online Application for Admission, which includes the Student and Parent Questionnaires, Teacher Recommendation and grading report, and submit them together with the application fee of $150.00. (SAR Academy Students are not required to pay the application fee.)
Board of Jewish Education High School Entrance Examinations. Each student is required to take the College Board PSAT for grade 8-9 and the BJE Judaic Studies examinations and have the scores reported to our Admissions Office.
Scholarship Assistance. If you will be applying for scholarship assistance, please click here. Parents who submit a scholarship application on or before January 23rd will be informed of the committee’s determination when decision letters are mailed. SAR High School will provide scholarship assistance to families who meet application and scholarship assistance deadlines, based on individual need. We seek to ensure that no qualified student is prevented from attending for monetary reasons.
Interview. Upon submission of the completed application, our Admissions Office will call to arrange an individual interview for students and their parents.

We are excited to welcome you to our SAR on-line application. You will have the opportunity to save your application and submit it later when you are ready. Final deadline for submission of your application is November 30. (SAR Academy student application deadline is October 22.) Any applications submitted after the deadline may run the risk of not being processed, in which case your application fee will be refunded to you.
Application fee $150 (Application Fee is waived for students from SAR Academy.)

Pre-registration is now open for our Open House on Sunday, October 14, 2018 from 9:30am-12:30pm. Pre-registration is encouraged but walk-ins are welcome to attend and can register upon arrival. Pre-registered guests should proceed to the Pre-Registration Tables upon arrival.
