Yom HaShoah is a day set aside to remember the Holocaust-- those who perished as well as the survivors who endured unimaginable suffering. Yom HaShoah was established in Israel in 1959 by law, the date selected was the 27th of Nissan.
The Yom HaShoah programming at SAR is planned in an age appropriate manner both at SAR High School and SAR Academy and includes survivor guest speakers, films, a kumzitz, cross-grade teaching, tehillim, candle-lighting, name recitation throughout the day, and the culmination of two year-long programs open to the community:
NAMES NOT NUMBERS, the Holocaust documentary film project produced and presented by SAR Academy students.
WITNESS THEATER, a unique theatrical production, the finale of an emotional journey by survivors and SAR High School students.
Yom HaShoah sponsors will be listed in the programs, on the school monitors, and in the school newsletters-- Koleinu and Chadashot. Complete the form below to be included as a sponsor. You may submit the donation by credit card, check, or Donor Advised Fund.
